Assessment methods

1. Theoretical examination: a written examination on the knowledge of postpartum restoration, accounting for 30% of the total grade.

2. Practical assessment: on-site demonstration of postpartum repair techniques and skills, accounting for 60% of the total grade.

3. Regular performance: including class participation and completion of assignments, accounting for 10% of the total grade.

 

Key learning opportunities​

  • The related knowledge and understanding required to perform the infant and child massage skills listed above effectively, in particular, the anatomy and physiology of the infant/child as well as the development, common diseases and disorders that may affect when the infant/child should or should not receive treatment

 

  • Development of their more comprehensive skills in a massage setting, such as communicating with infant/child, working with others and problem-solving

 

  • Develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as an Infant and Child Massage Therapist.

Who should take the course?

Learners who want to work within the Health/Complementary Therapy Industry. The qualification consists of 1 mandatory unit and 50 hours of Guided Learning (GL) to achieve the full qualification.
